Space Wizard Science Fantasy Books: 12 books and 2 RPGs coming in Year 3!

Created by Space Wizard Science Fantasy

We are an indie publishing house focusing on queer science fiction and fantasy. This is our third year bringing you amazing scifi and fantasy stories!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Passing $7000!
6 months ago – Sun, Jun 16, 2024 at 07:24:29 PM

Just a quick update that we passed $7000 today, and thanks to our new backers! We're going slower in these middle weeks, but we're getting there!

Remember you get a new honey-based video at $7500, so let's pass that next milestone!

One other thing. My press, Space Wizard Science Fantasy, will be having an AMA on r/Fantasy on Tuesday June 18th, so come and say hi if you reddit! The Space Wizard authors will be popping in during the day to comment on their books and tell what's coming up, and I'll be talking about the press, the campaign, and the new RPGs.
If you do drop by, please give the post an upvote. r/Fantasy has a continual problem with trolls downvoting posts focusing on queer content, so this year, the users are making this issue known and posting a lot of content for Pride Month. Show your support! I'll throw the link out that morning when I post.

See you then, and please keep sharing the campaign with friends, family, and anyone else you can think of!

Over halfway! Keep sharing!
6 months ago – Wed, Jun 12, 2024 at 11:36:33 AM

Hi Folks!

We are over halfway funded, but we're also in the middle "slow weeks" of the campaign. That means anyone you can share the campaign with, in person or online, is even more helpful than before!

But we've still got some great content for you. First, when we get to $7500 (so a little under $1000 more), I have a "sweet" video to share with you! Lets get to that next goal!

We're also contemplating a new T-shirt addon: for Lesbians in Spaaace!

There's a new poll running. What color do you prefer? Just click on the image and check it out!

See what your friends think as well! Feel free to pass this along, if you think someone you know might like a new book, or T-shirt, or RPG!

Speaking of which, I have two other book projects you might be interested in. The first is Southern Fried Cthulhu: An Anthology of Lovecraftian Mythos Fiction with a Southern Flair, by my fellow writer James Palmer.
Check it out!

The second is eSpec Book's tenth anniversary, with Something for Everyone! They've got a bunch of great book, and just like my campaign, you can pick which ones you want! Go give them a visit!

That's it for now, but I'll be back in a few days with another update. If you're in Charlotte NC this weekend, come see us at HeroesCon, in booth booth C-AA-401, near the cosplay stage!

Closing on halfway funded!
6 months ago – Thu, Jun 06, 2024 at 01:33:54 PM

Hi folks!

We had some great movement on the campaign this week and we're still moving faster than ever before, closing in on halfway funded!

Did you know Space Wizard also offers freelance developmental and copy editing at very affordable rates? So if you're not just a reader, but also an author, check out our "Full Book Copy Edit" and "Full Book Developmental Edit" pledge levels to bring your story some final polish! If you've read and enjoyed any of the books we publish, this is that same service, care, and attention. We're also happy to provide references of satisfied clients on request.

Not only that, we've got some amazing hardcovers, if you haven't checked them out. They're all in the "addons" section, so please take a look at the great new omnibuses! For example, you can get Carmen Loup's entire Audacity trilogy for the first time, with nine brand-new illustrations. If you enjoyed Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, this is very much in that same vein, and just as funny! Carmen is a very talented artist and both wrote the books and drew the cover and illustrations!

Please keep sharing the campaign with friends and family, and tell anyone you think might be interested in queer books for pride month!

Speaking of which, I wanted to share a project some of our writer friends are working on: I Spade You: An Asexual Anthology. This is a great collection of comics about being on the ace spectrum, so please check it out!

Now, here's one final fun video for backers only! So if you haven't backed the campaign yet, now's a great time. Below is the full video of J.S. Fields and Rosiee Thor chatting about the new books and stories they have coming up. There's a lot of cool stuff in store!

Almost to $5000!
6 months ago – Mon, Jun 03, 2024 at 04:44:13 PM

Thank you again for your support of Space Wizard Year 3! We're already coming up on $5000 in the campaign, which is fantastic news! To put this in perspective, we're moving about twice as fast as the last two years, both in backer numbers and in total funds, which I'm hoping means we'll hit some really cool stretch goals I have planned.

Also, hello to anyone backing over the last few days who I met at ConCarolinas this weekend! I had some lovely conversations with readers, was on some interesting panels about small presses, space opera, and writing, and sold even more books than I did last year. You all are great!

If you missed my rules explanation video for The Dissolutionverse RPG, check it out here!

If you're familiar with Space Wizard, you know we sell books at a lot of markets during the year. We're going to be at 5 more in June while the campaign is running, so if you're attending, come say hi! We'll be at:

Geek and Grub Market: Raleigh NC, Sat Jun 8, 6-10 pm
The Gamer's Armory: Raleigh NC, Sun Jun 9, 1-5 pm
Heroes Con, Charlotte NC, Fri-Sun Jun 14-16
Raleigh Pride: Raleigh NC, Sat Jun 22
Fayetteville Pride: Fayetteville NC, Sat June 29

In other fun news, I'm going to have a story published this summer in a new anthology title, I Want That Twink Obliterated! which is a collection of short stories like golden age pulp serials, but with lots of queer content! I'm going to try to secure some copies to handsell at markets, but in the meantime, go support the creators and preorder your copy right here!

That's all for now. Keep spreading the word to family and friends who might want some amazing queer books in Pride Month! Until next time!

The Dissolutionverse RPG explanation with William C. Tracy
6 months ago – Fri, May 31, 2024 at 07:10:47 AM

Hello folks! Here's our last introductory video, this time with me, William C. Tracy, talking about my new RPG, based on the Dissolutionverse series, a science fantasy with music-based magic! Play as one of eleven species, craft spells from your imagination, and use d8 dice in press-your-luck rolls to succeed at challenges!
Want to be a beta tester? You can do that in the campaign!

To see the video, you'll need to click through below (where it says "Reply to this Update" or "Follow this Project") to see it!
